List three books that have had an impact on you. Why?
Recently, I have read several books that were insightful and thought-provoking. Habits of Happy Brain by Loretta Breiuning taught me a great deal about where genuine happiness comes from and challenged many of the problematic assumptions that people and academic disciplines have about how our brain works and its role in happiness. In Journey of a Peaceful Warrior by Dan Millman, the protagonist’s experiences serve as an allegory for the common disappointments that we encounter in our pursuit of happiness. Finally, The I-Ching by Brian Walker provides a template for creating fulfillment by leading a meaningful life, rather than endlessly pursuing happiness.

Do you ever have that moment when everything perfectly aligns and you have that perfect idea or find the perfect book that contains the answer to the question you’ve been pondering?
It’s a feeling of clarity and insight that seems to come out of nowhere, a spark of inspiration that ignites our imagination and propels us forward. These moments may be rare and fleeting, but they remind us of the power of dopamine, curiosity and the joy of discovery.
Whether we are searching for answers to life’s big questions or simply exploring the world within or around us, these moments of inspiration remind us that there we always have more to learn and discover. By staying open and curious, we can continue to find new insights and experiences that enrich our lives and deepen our understanding of the world.
So the next time you have that moment of perfect alignment, and the brain chemical sparks feelings of excitement, embrace that fleeting sensation, let it fuel your curiosity and inspire you to keep exploring, keep learning, and keep growing. Who knows what other miracles and mysteries await you just around the corner?
